Update For The NJ Carry Case By ANJRPC

May 12, 2023

The Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs (ANJRPC) injunction in the NJ carry case refers to a lawsuit filed by ANJRPC challenging New Jersey’s restrictive gun laws. In the lawsuit, ANJRPC is seeking to strike down New Jersey’s requirement that applicants demonstrate a “justifiable need” to carry a handgun in public before being issued a permit to carry. ANJRPC argues that this requirement violates the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

On June 2, 2021, the U.S. District Court of New Jersey granted a 30-day extension for the state to implement new rules for concealed carry permit applications. This extension was granted in response to ANJRPC’s lawsuit. The case is ongoing.
